CCN International designs and builds high-end custom wood furniture for reception areas, conference rooms and offices.
CCN's raw material inventory includes a variety of wood panels and furniture hardware. As jobs move through the plant, CCN employees manually reported the job location and status.
CCN wanted to implement a data collection system that would track raw material inventory from receipt to job issue. CCN also wanted to implement an automated job tracking process.
Corner Office Consulting designed a custom data collection system that interfaces with CCN's Dbase accounting process using HHP 7300 portable data collection devices and Datamax E-Class printers.
Since panels are 0.75" thick, Corner Office designed a label with a Datamatrix 2D bar code and human readable data on a 0.7"H x 2.5" label.
Purchase order and job material data is transferred from the Dbase system to the data collection's ACCESS environment where HHP 7300s are used for receiving, stock movement and issue to production.

job sheet bar codes
With Job Order Tickets now bar coded, each plant work center uses Microvision FLIC scanners to record the job location and percentage complete. The FLIC scanners' data is then used to automatically update the Dbase database. |
